“I love Vietnam and be proud of being a member in the IEDG”
Dear IEDG family,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as an opportunity to introduce myself as the new Assistant to the Board of Principals for Pennsylvania American International School. I am extremely happy and motivated to join the arduous work of improving and broadening the Vietnamese educational quality done by the Indochina International Educational Development Group, particularly as the newest member to join the leadership team for Penn School. I look forward to getting to know the different stakeholders of our community and forming long-lasting relationships that help enhance the learning environment of our students.
I come to you with experience working in international school settings in three continents, both as a classroom teacher and administrator. However, above all, I consider myself to be a child’s advocate and hope that together we can help them develop their potential. Recently, I was finally able to visit our campus and meet with our principal Ms. Nuong. We had a lovely and productive time discussing the goals for the academic year and setting strategies to achieve them. There is such a strong feeling of community within our school that every person I met made me feel as if I had been working here for longer.
We started working together with the school for the last 3 months behind the scenes before I even arrived in Vietnam, and I can already say that I join a very well articulated leadership team that works relentlessly to guide our school to the highest standards and to support teachers and students on a daily basis. To be honest, I could even see that level of commitment and joint effort from the starting point, and it was one of the elements that helped me decide to join our community.
On a personal note, I am eager to explore Vietnam, its beautiful nature and cultural heritage, and the unique characteristics that make Ho Chi Minh City a developmental and economic hub for Southeast Asia. As a fellow coffee lover, I hope we get to share a cup or two as we discuss the future of our school.
It is a true honor to be given this opportunity and I look forward to immersing myself completely in our school and in our community. I believe it is an academic leader’s main responsibility to put our teachers in the best possible position to succeed so that they in turn give our children the best possible conditions to succeed.
