Job title: AP Teachers/Instructors

Reports to: Principals and AP Coordinators

Classification: Part-time

Schedule: Weekend availability (mainly on Saturday: 8am – 11am or 2pm – 5pm)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Teach a private group consisting of Grade 10 – 12 every Saturday, preparing the students to reach higher success for the Advanced Placement test in May 2022.
  • Prepare Course outline with best – fit materials. Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
  • Prepare weekly lesson summary notes.
  • Conduct online lesson by proper internet tools/or programs during the temporary Covid-19 situation.
  • Instruct students to learn and reinforce the materials in particular AP subjects.
  • Supervise, interact with, motivate students during instruction sessions and keep students engaged in online and offline lessons.
  • Create online quizzes and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
  • Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs and update gradebook weekly.
  • Communicate students’ progress with student and family effectively.
  • Assign students for in-home assignment.
  • Evaluate, document and record students’ learning progress via Progress Check and My report on AP Classroom.
  • Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work related tasks.
  • Be responsive to all messages from management team and communicate student needs to the manager or AP coordinators.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree and above with minimum two (2) years teaching experience, especially experienced in Advance Placement instruction.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the AP assigned subject and the needs of students.
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the age level and subject to be taught is desired: aligned or relevant coursework of related AP subjects.
  • Demonstrated evidence of classroom management skills.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage student behaviour.
  • Works with urgency and purpose to drive student outcomes.

Salary:

25$ – 35$/hour (negotiable), based on:

  • Ability on explaining and illustrating concepts of materials
  • Experience in teaching industry, especially AP subjects
  • Acquired teacher certificates or credentials

Performance Responsibilities:
  • To teach diligently and faithfully the classes or subjects assigned to the Teacher by the Principal by the School’s yearly schedule as published by the School;
  • Create a lively, communicative atmosphere in the class that is conducive to teaching and learning;
  • Encourage diligence, organization, responsibility, self-reliance, co-operation, teamwork, honesty, understanding, and tolerance in students;
  • Ensure appropriate behavior of students in class and around the School;
  • To ensure that the attendance of pupils for every school day is recorded in the teacher portal supplied by the School;
  • Maintain student records in accordance with the school policies and the guidelines issued by the Vietnam MoET, Ministry of Education, The Western Australia School Curriculum, The International Baccalaureate, The Pennsylvania American School Curriculum, and Standard Authority. This includes assessment records, progress records, classroom planning records (such as a daily planner), curriculum planning, as designated, attendance information, curriculum scope, and sequence;
  • Write, supervise and mark tests and exams as appropriate; produce weekly, end of term, yearly, transfer and other necessary reports, as required by the Principal;
  • Review student progress weekly and, where appropriate, provide additional academic assistance for students as an extension to the instructional part of the day;
  • To participate in a program of activities other than classroom instruction that advance student; education and education-related goals, and includes but is not limited to activities having to do with school-related sports, arts, and cultural activities;
  • Cover for absent colleagues when necessary;
  • Duties as assigned by the BoD and HoS.

Requirements:
  • Mininum a Bachelor’s degree in teaching or relevant field (in Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Computer Science, Music, Visual Art, Drama);
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a teacher in Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary or High School.
  • Ability to differentiate student-learning experiences through the use of a variety of teaching and assessment strategies in order to meet the needs of all students.
