A journey of discovery and chasing dreams begins again at WASS with faith and hope higher than ever. On the morning of August 6th, 2022, the Western Australian International School System (WASS) welcomed the new school year with excitement in the Opening Ceremony at Phu Tho Gymnasium with the participation of more than 3,000 students and their parents, along with all of our teachers and staff.
WASS believes that dreams are the beginning of every journey and education is the launching pad to bring generations of students closer to theirs. The theme ‘Make it a dream’ promises a new school year with countless breakthroughs, and that only by working together should we reach even greater successes and achievements.
Colorful performances, food stalls, together with activities in the stadium, and an academic gallery of WASSers in the past school year were remarkable in the eyes of our students and their families. All of this helped the children and their parents get ready for a new school year full of energy. The traditional drumming to kick off the new school year, with the inclusion of traditional features and a modern LED dance, became the highlight of the ceremony. The performance has purposely demonstrated the goal of improving and integrating science and technology into teaching at WASS, helping create the most comprehensively developed generations of students.
The past school year has brought about many challenges but also witnessed many extraordinary efforts and prideful achievements of our students at WASS. Within the framework of the ceremony, the Board of Directors presented the Principal Awards – prestigious annual awards presented only to WASSers who have achieved excellent results in both domestic and international competitions. We at WASS hope that as our children enter the new school year, they will feel motivated as ever to continue to strive for even more distinguished achievements.
Thanks to the trust and companionship of parents with the school during last year’s journey, strong motivation has been set in motion for WASS to constantly improve, paving the way for many more comprehensive educational pathways. We at WASS are commited to accompany families in giving wings to our student’s dreams and promoting their personal values, from there bringing out their maximum potential in this 2022 – 2023 school year.
