WASSers and Eagles make outstanding strides at the WSC competition in Thailand

Students from WASS and PennSchool triumphed in the Global Round of the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) International Speech Contest in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 2nd to September 7th. The World Scholar’s Cup is an annual team-based academic competition attended by thousands of students from over 60 countries and territories.

Due to their confidence and extensive knowledge, the WASSers and #HomeOfTheEagles clearly demonstrated their ability to achieve outstanding results in individual and team rounds in all categories. WASSer, Nguyen Tuong Anh Khoa, one of the most prominent participants, brought home numerous prizes, including:

– Gold Medal in Champion Scholars for the individual round

– 19th overall in Senior Division round

– COUNTRY TOP SCHOLARS – Vietnamese contestant with the highest score in the Senior Division round

– The honor to represent Vietnam in the procession of the country’s flag in the Flag March parade

#HomeOfTheEagles performed superbly, with three members, including Nguyen Ha My, Diep Vu Phong, and Nguyen Van Lam, reaching 6th place in the final of the Super Junior Division qualifiers.

The WASS and PennSchool teams plan to keep rehearsing and learning new material after this round is finished in order to be as ready as possible for the final round at Yale University in the United States in November. We believe that these accomplishments will inspire each contestant to work even harder, achieving greater heights in their academic pursuits.
